Emma Hiller née Reinhardt founded the Enamel wholesale. She originally worked as an accountant for the jewellery supplier Schütt. But soon started to wish to become self-employed. She found her passion in the Enamel distribution of Schauer- Enamel colours. During these years Enamel was a sought-after handicraft which was especially practised in the jewellery making town of Pforzheim. Together with her husband Wilhelm Hiller they managed to build a successful company.

Emma Hiller died 10 years after founding the business and Wilhelm Hiller had to continue the company on his own.

Even during the war years the company continued to operate.

Wilhelm Hiller had to leave Pforzheim after the city’s destruction in WWII. Along with his second wife Gertrud Hiller and their three children they moved to the neighbouring village of Eisingen. Due to this relocation, they had to abandon the company’s business.

Three years after the end of the war, the family was able to return to Pforzheim. Business activities were resumed. The three children Ursula, Günter and Joachim Hiller were already involved in the work and supported their parents wherever they could.

After Wilhelm Hiller’s death, Gertrud took over the management. The company had always been run in a family setting, allowing all its knowledge about the art of enamelling to be passed on naturally to the next generation.

Joachim Hiller, the youngest son of the family, took over the company. After graduating from business-school, he induced it with his youthful enthusiasm. Over the years, business structures were improved and refined. Enamel accessories and tools were added to the portfolio which enhanced the company’s presence in the market.

Joachim Hiller died. Even a week before his death, he still kept his focus on the enamel business. After more than 50 years of business his customers had grown close to his heart, and he derived great joy from their satisfaction.

Joachim Hiller’s wife Erika had already been involved in the business, even before her husband died. She often attended to customer queries and was familiar with the business structure. She shared all her knowledge with her daughter Heidi who has now taken over the management.
